More than thirty-vehicles --- and three elephants – were amidst a crash scene outside Indianapolis Thursday afternoon that shut down parts of Interstate 70 for as many as nearly eight hours and left at least ten people injured. Indiana State Police say it appears that a snow burst contributed to the accidents. The Indiana Court of Appeals has upheld another medical malpractice judgment against the former so-called Merrillville “nose doctor”. Mark Weinberger was sentenced last October to seven years in federal prison for health care fraud. Officials say Weinberger fled the country in 2004, and was found on a mountainside in Italy about five years later. He is reported to be incarcerated at the Metropolitan Correction Center in Chicago.

A licensed practical nurse is facing several preliminary felony charges after being arrested Tuesday for theft. Indiana State Police, Bremen (bree-men) Post, reports they were notified that a resident of nursing home in Plymouth had discovered one of their credit cards missing. Authorities then tracked down several purchases made in Plymouth and the surrounding area, and an investigation led them to a 26 year old  Lakeville woman. State...

The Times reports three masked men with guns forced their way into an elderly man's home in Gary Wednesday evening.
