Hobart Expands Search for New Fire Chief

In Hobart, the city has expanded its search for a new fire chief to outside the department. Currently Hobart operates three fire stations and has a sworn staff of 45 full-time firefighters. Applicants are asked to submit their cover letter and resume on or before noon Central Time March 14th, 2014. Former Fire Chief Brian Taylor stepped down from the post to join the city's police department last summer. Brian Kerr, who was named interim fire chief, stepped down from that position in October.
A news release from Hobart Mayor Brian Snedecor says an applicant must have at least five years service with a full-time, paid fire department or agency, and should also be versed in municipal budgeting, as well as other command level staffing and strategic planning and operations.  Those wishing to apply can choose one of three methods: via e-mail to: This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
