New Climate Report: Extreme Heat, Flooding for Midwest

American scientists today are warning about the coming changes to the climate as a result of global warming. The 800-page National Climate Assessment , compiled over four years, shows that every part of the country is being and will be impacted ... but in different ways. Dr. Jerry Melillo was head of the committee of scientists that wrote the report and says, " it's effecting us in our pocketbooks and on our land, in every region of the United States. It is changing the lives of farmers, mayors, engineers, town planners, truckers and foresters."
According to the report climate change will affect the Midwest through extreme heat, heavy downpours, and flooding which will affect infrastructure, health, agriculture, forestry, transportation, air and water quality, and more. The report also states that climate change will also exacerbate a range of risks to the Great Lakes.
