In Hammond, the city's Port Authority is holding a public meeting this afternoon to talk about the Hammond Beach Shoreline Stabilization Project. The meeting is scheduled to start at 2 pm. The Times says the port authority got a grant to look at ways of lessening erosion along the Lake Michigan shoreline just northwest of the Hammond Marina
