ABC News reports 37-year-old country singer Mindy McCready has died in an apparent suicide at her home in Heber Springs, Arkansas. Authorities discovered McCready's body on her front porch, the same place her boyfriend David Wilson died last month in an apparent suicide. The local sheriff says it appears McCready died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound. McCready - who soared to the top of the charts in the mid-90s has in recent years received more attention for her troubled personal life than her singing.
ABC's Hunter Kelly reporting from Nashville says Mindy McCready shot to stardom in 1996 with her lone number one hit "Guys Do It All the Time" and that her well-documented downward spiral included trouble with drugs and run-ins with the law. She leaves behind two sons. The youngest boy's father, McCready's fiancé David Wilson, reportedly committed suicide about a month ago, though that death is under investigation.
