One of the goals of the Indiana State Police is to reduce injuries and fatalities on Hoosier roadways, which is usually done through periodic traffic blitzes. Troopers from the Lowell Post conducted such a blitz today on I-65, using marked and unmarked vehicles and TruCam Lidars that have the ability to not only capture a violator's speed and video tape it, but also break down the time and distance between cars to include those following too closely. Lowell Post Commander Lt. Jerry Williams says, “by reducing tailgating and aggressive driving violations you can take an active role in reducing crashes and fatalities in our communities.”
