THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN CHICAGO HAS ISSUED A WIND CHILL ADVISORY...WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM 6 PM THIS EVENING TO 5 AM CST THURSDAY. * TIMING...SNOW WILL END BY MID MORNING OVER THE CHICAGO METRO AREA. * ACCUMULATION...STORM TOTAL SNOW ACCUMULATIONS WILL GENERALLY END UP IN THE 1 TO 3 INCH RANGE...THOUGH IT IS STILL POSSIBLE THAT THERE COULD BE ISOLATED TOTALS OF 3 TO 4 INCHES. * MAIN IMPACT...UNTREATED ROADS WILL BE SNOW COVERED AND TRAVEL DIFFICULT FOR THE MORNING RUSH HOUR. IN ADDITION...REDUCED VISIBILITY IN SNOW IS LIKELY THROUGH THE HEART OF THE RUSH HOUR IN THE CHICAGO AREA...PARTICULARLY FROM THE CITY SOUTHWARD.

MODERATE NORTHWEST WINDS WILL RESULT IN WIND CHILLS OF 10 TO 20 BELOW ZERO THIS AFTERNOON FALLING TO 15 TO 25 BELOW ZERO TONIGHT PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY MEANS THAT SNOW WILL CAUSE TRAVEL DIFFICULTIES. BE PREPARED FOR SNOW COVERED ROADS...LIMITED VISIBILITIES...AND VERY DIFFICULT TRAVEL CONDITIONS. A WIND CHILL ADVISORY MEANS THAT VERY COLD AIR AND STRONG WINDS WILL COMBINE TO GENERATE LOW WIND CHILLS. THIS WILL RESULT IN FROST BITE AND LEAD TO HYPOTHERMIA IF PRECAUTIONS ARE NOT TAKEN. IF YOU MUST VENTURE OUTDOORS...MAKE SURE YOU WEAR A HAT AND GLOVES.
