However, because of melting snow and the prediction of additional rain, the weather service has issued a flood watch in effect until early this evening for Newton and Jasper Counties along the Kankakee and Iroquois rivers as well as farm fields and low lying areas.
For the first full day of winter on Sunday, there currently is a 50% chance of snow, mainly before noon, with a high or 35 predicted.
Drivers should still allow for extra time, increase the distance between other vehicles and double check that their headlights are on as fog and misted reported in the Region is limiting visibility in some areas.
