In Hammond Federal Court today, nwi-dot-com is reporting Thomas Philpot has been sentenced to eighteen-months in prison for paying himself more than 24-thousand dollars in bonuses from federal child support incentive funds while he was Lake County Clerk. Philpot, who also served ten-years as Lake County Coroner, has reportedly been ordered to surrender to federal authorities on April third.
