Sauk Village residents hoping to hear solutions to their well water woes instead had to sit though political infighting at Tuesday night's board meeting. The trouble began two weeks earlier when members of the Village Board adopted several motions--motions that were vetoed by the Village President Tuesday night. According to http://www.nwitimes.com/ one of the Village Trustees asked three times to skip the "grandstanding and posturing" and to place all four of the vetoed motions on the next agenda so the board would have the right to override the vetoes. High levels of vinyl chloride have recently been found in the Village's water according to the article. Earlier this week, according to http://www.nwitimes.com/ the state decided to help by installing equipment next week that would reduce the contaminant levels.
