Valparaiso Police and Porter County SWAT Team are at the scene of a standoff in the 1000 block of Elmhurst on the west side of Valparaiso. Valparaiso Police Public Information Officer Sgt. Michael Grennes says a man in a house is threatening to harm himself. Police say there's no one else inside the house. Elmhurst Street and Bond Avenue are closed to traffic. Police received the call shortly after 4pm.
