Gary Mayor Karen Freeman-Wilson joined Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel and other Chicago-area mayors, including the mayors of Lynwood and Evanston, in voicing support for stronger gun regulations and encouraging other city leaders to join “Mayors Against Illegal Guns.” During today's press conference, Freeman-Wilson stated, “one substantial step towards addressing this plague is a federal ban on assault weapons.” Freeman-Wilson said in a statement from her office that she is”calling on President Obama and the members of the U.S. congress to make this a priority.” Follow the link provided for a video of the press conference, http://youtu.be/iGdJqbB-FlE.
